Veteran nollywood actress Chief Mrs. Chinwe Owoh emerged the chairperson of the actors guild of Nigeria, Enugu State Chapter. The election which was held on the 2nd of December last year at office of the guild, national museum, Enugu was transparent and fair and was well attended by members. In a congratulatory message, the national president of the guild, Chief Mrs Ibinabo Fiberesima thanked the entire members of the chapter for their firm resolve in ensuring that the election was conducted peacefully despite threats to disrupt the process by those she referred to as enemies of the guild. Ibinabo expressed her gratitude to the out gone executive, especially the chairman Stan K. Amamdi whom she described as her hero. Members of the guild revealed that their reason for massively voting for the nollywood cry cry actress was because of her commitment and selfless service to the guild. On her part,
the new chairperson of the guild thanked the entire members for their unalloyed support and pledged to move the chapter to the next level. The following people also emerged officers during the election: Ezenwanne Kingsley (KK)-chief whip, Brown Ene-DGS, Ijele Ozioma-PRO, Daniel Nnanna- Assistant secretary, Elder Uzor Umeh- Financial secretary, HRH, Adaeze Chiegbu-Treasurer, and chimaroke Akubue-Vice chairman.
Six months after the election, members of the guild have expressed satisfaction in the leadership of chinwe Owoh. Speaking to the Editor of Coneri magazine, Eriacy Confidence Oba, the AGNEC secretary of the election, Barr. Johnnuks Mfah revealed that the guild is reaping the dividend of voting for a true, sincere and committed leader, claiming that Mrs Chinwe Owoh has done so well for the chapter in just six months in office. Reacting to a question asked by Eriacy Confidence Oba about the relationship of Chinwe Owoh with her fellow exco members, the vice chairman of the guild, Mr Akubue chimaroke revealed the relationship has been cordial and pledged their collective support for CHINWE Owoh to enable her take the chapter to the promised Land.
