Chief Dr. Matthew O. Achigbe has emerged Chairman of the All Progressive Congress APC Cross River State chapter. The Obubra born politician emerged winner in the just concluded Cross River APC state Congress held today 22nd August 2018 in Calabar.
In a chat with Coneri Magazine, members say the emergence of Dr. Matthew Achigbe as the authentic Chairman of the APC in the state will reposition the party for victory ahead of the 2019 general election.
In a congratulatory message, the new Chairman of the Party, Dr. Matthew Ojong Achigbe thanked members for believing in him promising that his executive won't disappoint their expectations.
The following party stakeholders were present at the Congress: His Excellency Dr. Clement Ebiri former Governor of Cross River State, Distinguished Senator John Owan Enoh Senator representing the Central Senatorial District, Hon. Hilliard Eta, Vice President South South, Hon. Alex Ogbonna, Hon. Paul Adah and other APC chieftains.
The annulled Cross River APC State Congress rescheduled for 22nd August 2018 was held peacefully and well attended by members bringing the heated leadership tussle in the state to an abrupt end.
