ACTORS GUILD: C'RIVER CHAPTER HOLDS FIRST MEETING AFTER ELECTIONS AS MEMBERS THROW SUPPORT BEHIND JO ESSE

The Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) Cross River State chapter held her meeting on the  30/8/18 at cultural centre, Calabar.

PREAMBLE:.. The Meeting commenced  by 5.02PM,with 20 members present. The  Secretary (Comr. Ekpedeme Moses) read  out the agenda of the meeting; Kanu Okpo Moved a motion for the adoption of the minute which Ekeng Henshew seconded.

Opening prayer was taken by Caroline Eko while apologies were obtained for Edet Esuabanga and Ibok Ekpenyong.



The chairman gave his opening speech by welcoming members in the meeting as to their support for the guild, by excercising their Franchise in the just concluded guild elections in the state which produced the Jo Esse led administration.He thanked Emeka Rollas led executive and Hon. Eric Anderson for initiating marketable events, particularly the Cross River Talent Hunt Show 2018.  He  encouraged members to contribute positively without fear or favor. He read out letter of introduction of members of the new executive in the state, hence dissolving all former structures in the chapter. He read a letter of appreciation, etc. He however told members to embrace peace, unity and peace.


 The Chairman, Comr. Jo Esse conducted one minute silence on behalf of the guild  in honor of fallen heroes and heroines who have died in the struggle. It was announced to members that everybody should attend the grand finale of Cross River Talent Hunt Show organized by the Ministry of Culture and Entertainment under the leadership of Hon. Eric Anderson(Honorable Commissioner and former Chairman of the guild in the state) on Sunday 2nd September 2018 at the Cultural Center complex, Calabar.

He also reminded members to attend Fitness Walk on the 1st September 2018. In his closing speech,the chairman thanked. members present for their show of love  and solidarity to the guild and his executives. He therefore promised on behalf of his executive that his administration will not fail members but meet up with the demanding task of their offices.
Comr. Caroline Eko moved the motion for adjournment of the meeting till last Thursday of September and Maxwell Njan seconded.
Closing prayer was taken by Ubong Inyang as meeting came to a close at about 7PM with over 150 members in attendance.


  Highlights of the meeting were introduction of the guild's database for purpose of data collation & integration, the new AGN App, revalidation, Honouring of pioneer members, special recognitions, invitation of  stakeholders & ex officio to the executive table, formation of committees & adhoc committees, issuance of letter of appointments and certificates of honour, brief overview on court summons by Monica udofia while meeting was on, appreciation of Eric Anderson's talent hunt event and the charging of members to support Francis Nzekwe (AGN Member) Etc
