Bassey Tom Vows To Restore Government Properties In Obubra


The executive chairman of Obubra Local Government Council, Hon Dr Bassey Agara Tom has promised to revamp properties belonging to the Government in Obubra LGA to good standard. He made this promise yesterday July 17th, shortly after inspecting the Government owned Pontoon at Ogurude community where the property is stationed.

The chairman expressed displeasure with the attitude of people towards public properties, frowning that the pontoon was unkempt and unattended  by the people who were supposed to be managing it. He admonished the people to always handle public properties with care and seriousness as they were meant to serve the public and not to be looked with reckless abandon. He said he will be glad to see that the property is functional and serving the purpose for which it was brought to the people of Obubra.

Briefing the chairman on the condition of the pontoon, the manager Mr Stephen Agwurokpon aka Step,  said the pontoon was functioning until the engines got bad and have not been serviced until now. He told the chairman that they have been cleaning the chassis once in a while but will be doing that regularly now to ensure better management of the property. The manager also complain to the chairman that he has been battling with his health for a long time now with little resources at his disposal.

In his response, the chairman Dr Bassey Agara Tom sympathised with him and asked him to visit him in his office next week so as to assist him provide adequate and quality medical services for him in order to be healthy enough to serve the people as the manager of government owned Pontoon.

Dr Bassey Tom made a visit to Ogurude on his way back from Eja community for an official visit.
