 The Need To Rescue Host Community Of The Biggest Fishing Festival In The South Of Nigeria.

Seriously speaking, if the govt of Cross River state has forgotten or deliberately ignored this strategic community, I'm appealing to either NDDC under the purview of the Fed. Ministry of Niger Delta, or any of the World bank agencies to please come to our aid! I'm talking about Onyen Orangha/Yala Nkum-Obubra or notably Nkum Akpambe/Onyen Orangha. This community that is noted for being blessed with fish and gigantic yams, is one of a couple of other communities in Obubra that is sharing a boundary with Ikom LGA. The road that is seen here being manually constructed with women not left out, is the Ochon -Onyen Okpon,Obubra LGA HQ, Nkum-Okosora road, Okosora is in Ikom LGA.The river that runs through my community also from Ikom  is now the alternative access to Onyen Orangha/Nkum by speed boat, as the Ofumbongha Yala road from Obubra, the LGA Hqtrs is inaccessible due to a collapsed bridge at Akoi plantation! The other pictures are shots from  Onyen Okpon to onyen  orangha and part of Gala  Nkum road.this community is  only known vibrant fishing festival in Southern Nigeria after Argungu in the north, this festival has the potential to further place Cross River state on tourism foremost category. This is the reason why access roads to this community is an economic and socio-political master stroke. A visit to this place is all that is needed to convince anyone of the veracity of this piece. I hope this will not be a lone voice in the wilderness of negligence, that everyone of us will lend our voices in various capacities to attract necessary and urgent attention! Victor Ndoma Egba once came this community to award this road in the name of NDDC,up till date nothing has been done.God should send someone to help my people. Tomorrow someone will say we are Niger Delta. Tomorrow Ben Ayade will cry and say after 5 years in office he never knew the are still road like that in cross river state.
