The senator representing the Southern Senatorial District of Cross River State in the National Assembly, Distinguished Senator Gershom Bassey has empowered no fewer than 900 women and Youths with #40,000 each. 

Speaking during the empowerment programme held today at Gomays hotel Calabar, with beneficiaries cutting across the various wards in the state, senator Bassey reiterated his commitment to ensuring the empowerment of all Cross Riverians,  especially the Youths and women in this critical time, irrespective of political and Cultural affiliations. The Lawmaker who decribed the youths and women as critical stakeholders in the development and growth of the state, emphasized the significance of providing the needed financial support for the expansion of their businesses and education. 

According to him" I believe significantly in the empowerment of our women and Youths. They are a critical mass in the development and growth of our beloved state. As we progress, I'll ensure the youths are not left behind." 

The beneficiaries who expressed gratitude to the senator for such a gesture, decribed him as a people oriented leader who should be supported to man on the number one seat in order to contribute further to the empowerment and growth of women and Youths in the state.
