The Joy Of Yuletide Remains In Obubra As Widows, APC, Others Aplaud Cross River Commissioner For Humanity, Hon. Blessing Egbara Over Distribution Of Gifts

Widows of Obubra Local Government Area of Cross River State have made it pellucid that some of them were able to join the world in celebrating Christmas and new year because of the  gifts which the Cross River State Commissioner for Humanity and Social Welfare, Mrs. Blessing Otobha Egbara presented  to them. 

The Honorable Commissioner had on 31st of December, 2021, distributed over one thousand bags of rice and chickens as well as some cash gift to widows and other vulnerable ones who gathered in their numbers at her  residence in Mile 1, Obubra.

While addressing the mammoth crowd, Mrs. Blessing Egbara said she was more concerned about the widows and other vulnerable ones because most of them have no one to put smiles on their faces on a feastful season like Christmas and new year celebration, especially as it is usually a season where some of such category of people reflect on their bitter experiences. She added that her joy could only be completed if such individuals joined others to celebrate the season. Hence the need to make them happy through the distribution of the items. She also encouraged them to be resilient in all their endeavors while promising them an unflinching support, adding that she would not relent in her quest to giving out the best to them whenever the need arises.

The widows who poured torrents of praises on Mrs Egbara said their joy  was not just because Mrs Egbara made them to celebrate the season with ease, but because this magnanimous act of hers was becoming a continual approach towards ameliorating the state of humanity, especially as Mrs. Egbara  has always maintained the attitude of putting smiles on the faces of the widows and other vulnerable Cross Riverians on interval basis.

Accordingly, the Obubra Chapter of the Cross River Women Emancipation Initiative (CROWEI) was also carried along as the Honourable Commissioner has in the same spirit of celebration, extended her altruistic act of sharing same food stuff to the women of Obubra. 

Some of the beneficiaries however betoned that they were not astonished over the Honourable Commissioner's ultruistic act, seeing that as a private business woman and an entrepreneur, Mrs. Egbara was already a philanthropist before she was appointed to head the Cross River State Ministry of Humanity and Social Welfare by Gov. Ben Ayade. Thus, making it awkward for such a humanitarian and ultruistic attributes to elude her.

Not forgetting her political party, the Honorable Commissioner also extended same gesture to the Obubra Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as she also presented bags of rice and chickens to the party members alongside cash gift to the Chapter and wards Exco.

The party leadership headed by Mr. Denis Egor  thanked the Honourable Commissioner for her magnanimous act and show of love for the people, especially owing to the fact that before now, Mrs. Egbara has always been one of the pillars of the party whose contribution for the acquisition and renovation of the part's Secretariat in Obubra was also appreciated by the party leadership.

The Honourable Commissioner also used the occasion to appreciate HE, Gov. Sir Ben Ayade for giving her the opportunity to serve in his administration. She added that her position as Commissioner for Humanity and Social Welfare has in no little measure, created an atmosphere for her to reach a wider range of people, especially the women and other less privileged ones in the society. Mrs Egbara also asked them to continue to pray for the Governor.
