Jubilation As Leading Governorship Aspirant, Sen. Gershom Bassey Empowers PDP Leaders In Obubra

A frontline gubernatorial aspirant in Cross River State and Senator representing the good people of Southern Senatorial District, Distinguished Senator Gershom Bassey has put smiles on the faces of PDP party faithfuls in Obubra LGA once again. This time it was the turn of the PDP ward Chairmen of Obubra LGA to revel in the benevolence of the good Senator. In his magnanimity, Sen. Gershom Bassey empowered all the ward Chairmen of Obubra PDP with brand new motorcycles. 

Taking delivery of the fifteen motorcycles, the Obubra chapter Chairman of PDP, Chief Godwin Igwe, eulogized distinguished Senator Gershom Bassey as a man with a big heart who despite the fact that he represents the Southern Senatorial District and not the Central, still magnanimously betters the life of people beyond his immediate Constituency. According to him, "it is not easy for a man representing the South to encourage a central chapter Chairman and his ward Chairmen with such empowerment."

At the formal presentation of the motorcycles by the chapter Chairman, the excitement and frenzy of the ward Chairmen  was pervasive to say the least. Presenting the brand new motorcycles to the beneficiaries on behalf of Sen. Gershom Bassey, the chapter Chairman, Chief Godwin Igwe, adviced the ward Chairmen to regard the motorcycles as tools that should encourage them to diligently do their designated work of building, sustaining and mobilising the party for resounding victory at the polls in 2023 and beyond. He said, " Senator Gershom Bassey, a frontline aspirant for Governorship of Cross River State has seen how difficult it is for the wards in Obubra to be assessed and administered and he decided to encourage the ward Chairmen by providing mobility for you."

Furthermore, the Chairman said that this kind gesture of Sen. Gershom Bassey will enable the ward Chairmen to function properly in their various party activities. He revealed that fifteen motorcycles were delivered out of which eleven went to the ward Chairmen and the remaining four went to the other community leaders that live within us (ie the Igbo Community), Akam Agwagwoni and Onyen Orangha communities. He prayed that, "God that has given Sen. Gershom Bassey the enablement to provide this gifts will increase him and direct his steps to do even more exceedingly for the betterment of our party and Cross River State in general."

In his exuberant response, the Chairman of Iyamoyong Ward, Mr. Kerien Edim Okora, speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, expressed his deep and profound gratitude to Distinguished Senator Gershom Bassey for his benevolence. He said, "I honestly and really appreciate Sen. Bassey for aiding us to be mobile at this point in time. I pray for God to protect you and grant you your hearts desires. I pray you will become our leader as Governor of Cross River State."

The Chairman of Ofat Ward, Mr Victor Akam could not hold his excitement at this kind gesture and insisted on appreciating the Distinguished Senator for his goodwill. He enthused, "I sincerely from the dept of my heart thank the Distinguished Senator Gershom Bassey representing Southern Senatorial District for his benevolence to assist me with a bike. This will go a long way to help my mobilization for the party's victory in all elections in 2023."

Indeed, it was a big day for all the Ward Chairmen and other community beneficiaries as they all retired to their various villages to celebrate with their families and friends this wonderful acquisition of the motorcycles.
