Commissioner For Humanitarian Affairs, Dr. Helen Egodo Attends Workshop For The Validation Of The Reviewed Cross River State Social Protection Policy

The Honourable Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs, Dr Mrs Helen Egodo, on Wednesday, attended a two-day workshop aimed at validating the reviewed social protection policy of Cross River State.

The event, organized by the Cross River State Ministry of International Development Cooperation in collaboration with the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), brought together experts, stakeholders, and policymakers to review the social protection policy and ensure it aligns with international standards and best practices. The goal was to develop a comprehensive policy that would address the social and economic needs of the vulnerable population in Cross River State.


During the workshop, participants discussed various aspects of the policy, including the provision of social assistance, access to education, healthcare, and other basic services. They also examined strategies to strengthen the coordination and monitoring mechanisms of the policy to ensure its effective implementation.

During the event, Commissioner Helen Egodo emphasized the importance of social protection measures in alleviating poverty and enhancing the well-being of individuals and communities. She stressed the commitment of the government and concerned organisations to providing social and humanitarian assistance to those in need. 


Dr Egodo was accompanied to the event by the Permanent Secretary, directors and other staff of the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Cross River State.
