Petition Against EEDC And TCN: Public Petitions Committee Fixes Date To Visit Mbaise Communities For Inspection
FEDERAL HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES COMMITTEE ON PUBLIC PETITIONS INVESTIGATIVE HEARING
Venue: House of Representatives, Room 429 (New Wing), FCT - Abuja
Petition by M. C. Chambers against EEDC, TCN and NERC over total blackout, extortion, and total neglect of Mbaise District in Imo State:
This is to bring to the notice of the good people of Mbaise, that the House Committee on Public Petitions, led by Rt. Hon. Mike Etaba MHR, has officially fixed dates for site visit and inspection of the abandoned and uncompleted Transmission Station situated between in Aboh Mbaise LGA and Umueleagwa in Ezinihitte Mbaise area of Imo State. The visit shall be in second week of March, 2024, as Rt. Hon. Mike Etaba as the Committee Chairman and his Colleagues officially visit Mbaise Communities for inspection. Barr. Nwaekpe wants the EEDC to stop giving estimated bill to his people, and also wants every house in Mbaise Community to be metered.
The Seventh Summon of the petition came up on 6th February, 2024, as the Committee concluded on official inspection and site seeing in Mbaise Communities.
Therefore, we encourage community leaders in Mbaise to welcome these Great visitors, who are on important mission.
Bear in mind, Rt. Hon. Mike Etaba is representing the good people of Obubra/Etung Federal Constituency of Cross River State. But he has taken bold step to make sure electricity issue is settled in Mbaise, due to the much love and regard he has for the people.
Moreover, it is very important to let our people know that the petitioner - Barr. Malachy Nwakepe is a human rights lawyer and not a politician. Therefore, it is wrong and unfortunate for some of our people who always think of nothing good to attract in Mbaise nation, but all about politics for selfish interest, to come out and fully support this well-meaning and progressive son of Mbaise at the moment.
As a human rights lawyer, Barr. Nwaekpe has used his voice to speak on behalf of, and also defend various Nigerians as his clients. It is wrong for some of our people to always think that one must be interested to contest for a political position, before he or she contributes for the growth and development of Mbaise nation. Whatever good one does to our people, some politicians in Mbaise will think one is trying to over shadow them, or that one is planning to take over any of their political positions. This is very wrong, and cannot help the good people of Mbaise in any way.
Going through his records as a human rights lawyer, Barr. Malachy Nwaekpe has petitioned various top government and non-government organisations on behalf of his clients all over Nigeria. That is why he boldly decided to speak on behalf of ndi Mbaise at the moment at the Public Petitions, in order to get justice for his people. Charity begins at home, though does not stop there.
Therefore, let every well-meaning and progressive son and daughter of Mbaise do well to appreciate and support him at the moment, till Mbaise nation to gets justice at through the Public Petitions. You can reach Barr. Malachy Nwaekpe on 08038216469.
Who says good thing cannot come from Nazareth, as Barr. Nwaekpe has done what those who in government (both past and present) failed to do. It is an encouragement to every son and daughter of Mbaise, to always contribute for the growth and development of Mbaise nation at every level or position you see yourself. It is our collective responsibility, to make sure Mbaise nation develops like other clans.
All Barr. Malachy Nwaekpe wants is for the uncompleted Transmission Station in Aboh Mbaise and Umueleagwa in Onicha, Ezinihitte Mbaise to be fully completed by TCN. This as a matter of fact, will increase the quantity electricity supply in Mbaise District by EEDC. Our people at home have suffered much in paying for what they did not use, through the EEDC estimated bill. Every house in our communities should be metered, for everyone to accurately pay for what he/she consumes.
We cannot sincerely talk about growth and development of Mbaise nation without power supply and good road network.
May God bless Barr. Malachy Nwaekpe!
May God bless the Rt. Hon. Etaba led Committee!!
May God bless Mbaise nation!!!
United, we stand.
