C'River State Government Forges Partnership with Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Seeks To Boost Job Creation, Wealth Sustainability
The Cross River State government, through the Department of Wealth Creation and Job Placement, has sought the partnership of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Calabar Branch, to drive job creation and promote sustainable wealth generation among unemployed indigenes in the state
The Special Adviser on Wealth Creation and Job Placement, Comrade Bright Ewona, revealed this, on Wednesday, shortly after a meeting with the Branch Controller, Mr. Ukanyirioha Nnaemeka, and his management team in Calabar.
Comrade Ewona, who commended the management for engaging in initiatives designed to directly address the skills gap and provide practical experience, thereby improving the employability of Cross River State youths, reiterated the state's government
commitment in leveraging collaborative efforts to addressing unemployment challenges.
He maintained that the government is poised on establishing a robust corporate partnership to implement key initiatives aimed at providing sustainable employment and wealth creation opportunities for Cross Riverians. These initiatives, according to Ewona, include, Project TEE (Train, Empower, and Evaluate Initiative), and Workplace Internship Programs, which are
aimed at designing a comprehensive programs to provide targeted training, empower individuals with essential skills, and evaluate their progress as well as facilitate internship opportunities for unemployed graduates to gain practical experience and enhance their employability.
"Our collaboration with the CBN is crucial in our mission to equip our citizens with the necessary skills and resources to thrive in today's economy as we are committed to creating meaningful opportunities that will positively impact the lives of our people," Comrade Ewona emphasized.
"And by partnering with the CBN, we can leverage their expertise and resources to drive sustainable economic growth in the state."
Speaking during the meeting, Mr. Ukanyirioha Nnaemeka, the Branch Controller of the CBN Calabar, welcomed the SA and his team, emphasizing the bank's commitment to supporting initiatives that promote economic development and job creation. He noted that the CBN recognizes the critical role of collaboration in addressing the challenges of unemployment and poverty and expressed optimism in the partnership with the state.
'We are pleased to partner with the Cross River State government on these vital initiatives,' Mr. Nnaemeka stated. 'The CBN is dedicated to fostering a conducive environment for economic growth, and we believe that by investing in the skills and development of our youth, we can unlock the immense potential of Cross River State.
