The Director of the Cross River State Internal Revenue Service, Dr. Ndoma Odey, has extended warm felicitations to the people of Yala Nation on the occasion of the 2025 Yala New Yam Festival.

In his goodwill message, Dr. Odey described the festival as more than just a harvest celebration, noting that it stands as a proud expression of the cultural identity, unity, and resilience of the Yala people.

According to him, the New Yam Festival is “a reminder of the blessings of hard work, the value of gratitude, and the need to preserve our rich heritage for generations yet unborn.”

While wishing the people of Yala peace, prosperity, and progress, the IRS Director commended traditional rulers and custodians of culture for sustaining the age-long tradition. He further urged sons and daughters of Yala, both at home and in the diaspora, to remain united in purpose as they contribute to the development of Yala and Cross River State at large.

He concluded by praying for a joyous and fruitful celebration for all communities across Yala Nation.
