Former Cross River Commissioner for health Dr Inyang Asibong yesterday the 30th of December 2019 resumed office as the Honourable commissioner for International Development/ Donor Cooperation



On her resumption, she was received by the PS, Mr Felix Ita and Directors in the Ministry. This was quickly followed by an inaugural management meeting in the office of the Commissioner in the course of which she revealed several programmes the ministry is set to embark upon in the coming year.

The Commissioner, who thanked the State Governor, Sen Prof Ben Ayade and his wife Dr Linda Ayade for the opportunity to serve in another capacity promised to consolidate on the gains of her predecessor, Hon Frank Ettah.

In the same vein, she thanked her former Permanent Secretary, the PS, CRSMOH, Dr Joseph Bassey and Directors for being a strong reason behind the success of the Ministry in the last Administration, while encouraging them to give her Successor, Dr Betta Edu the same kind of support.
Later in the day, the Commissioner and the MIDC management team held a strategic meeting with the UN Country Rep. in Nigeria, Mr Edward Kallon. The UN Resident coordinator commended the State Governor, Sen Prof Ben Ayade on a very well packaged Calabar festival and Carnival, and stated the UN's commitment to improving the life and well being of all Cross Riverians.


Dr. Inyang Asibong who served as commissioner for health in the first tenure of Gov. Ben Ayade was reappointed due to her track record of service. Asibong was sworn in along side 39 others.
