Dansuki, Sowore's Release: FG asked to release El-Zakzaki

The Federal Government of Nigeria has been asked by Femi Falana (SAN) to release Ibraheem El-Zakzaky, leader of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN).

Reacting to the release of Omoyele Sowore, convener of Revolution Now Movement, and former national security officer, Sambo Dasuki, Falana said the time has come for the Government to free El-Zakzaky too.

According to him, just like in the case of Sowore and Dasuki, there have also been court orders for the IMN leader to be released.

He said: “We have confirmed that the federal government has decided to comply with the orders of some municipal and regional courts for the release of Mr Omoyele Sowore and Col. Sambo Dasuki. However, we call on the federal government to release other political detainees and criminal suspects in line with valid and subsisting orders of courts
