Nigerian Singer Burna boy looses Grammy to Angelique Kidjo

Nigerian music sensation, Burna Boy lost his chance at a Grammy award tonight during the 62nd Grammy Awards which held at the Staples Centre in Los Angeles.
Burna Boy lost to veteran singer Angelique Kidjo. The other nominees in the category were Altin Gün, Bokanté & Metropole Orkest Conducted By Jules Buckley, and Nathalie Joachim With Spektral Quartet.

If Burna Boy had won, he would have been the second Nigerian to win a Grammy. The first Nigerian to win a Grammy is Sikiru Adepoju. He won it in 2009 for an album called Global Drum Project with Mickey Hart, Giovanni Hidalgo and Zakir Hussein.
Last year, Afrobeat act Seun Kuti was nominated in the same category. His older brother Femi Kuti has been nominated four times.
