The Ofenekpa community of Obubra has displayed what could be referred to as unwavering commitment to the restoration and sustenance of peace between the Mbembe people of Obubra and their Isobo/Izzi counterparts in Ebonyi state by returning one Mr  Peter Omeji, an Isobo man who lost his way few days ago and found himself in Ofenekpa, an Mbembe speaking community in Obubra Local Government Area of Cross River State.

According to Omukwu Chris who posted the good news on the WhatsApp platform of Mbembe People's Assembly while expressing satisfaction in the strong resolve by both parties to the peace Accord, said the Ofenekpa people promptly placed a call on Hon Declan Ovunna who rushed to Ofenekpa and picked the lost Isobo man. He has since handed over the man to Isobo people.

In his words:
"Ofenekpa people have displayed what is unparallel in history. An Isobo man Peter Omeji just yesterday lost his way and found himself in Ofenekpa. Ofenekpa people promptly placed a call on Hon Declan Ovunna who rushed to Ofenekpa and picked the lost Isobo man. He has since handed over the man to Isobo people. There is no alternative to peace. Kudos to the executive of this body under the leadership of my learned colleague Barr Paschal Nwenyi"

Recall that the lingering crises between the Isobo people and their Mbembe counterparts was recently brought to a halt after claiming several lives and destroying properties worth millions with both parties signing a peace accord. The recent gesture of returning the Isobo man by the Mbembe people is a display of utmost commitment to that Accord.
Shalom!
