"We received the news of the demise of our dear brother and friend, Mr Okan Peter with great shock. He was a promising and intelligent young man that everyone was proud of. He dedicated himself wholely to his calling as a journalist, a presenter with Cross River Broadcasting Corporation (CRBC), and other radio houses, a master of ceremony, and other sundry jobs he did as a young man
Untill his death, Okan Peter was a member of the Bassey Tom campaign organization, serving in the Media and publicity sub committee, and professionally anchored our maiden campaign as the MC, a job he did with astuteness and enthusiasm
As one of the fecund of media in our society, we note with sadness, that his voice, experience and intelligence will deeply be missed
Though death they say is a necessary end that must come when it will come, it came to him too early. We commiserate with the family of the deceased, his colleagues, friends and associates, and urge them to find solace in the legacies of Okan Peter while he was alive to Cross Riverians and indeed humanity as deeply expressed across media platforms
You will for ever remain in our heart dear brother.
May his soul rest in peace... Amen"
