The people of Anagha community in Nde Clan, Ikom Local Government Area of Cross River State on the 20th of June crowned  His Royal Highness, Simon Esoso Ekom as their new ruler. Nton Simon Ekom was
unanimously selected by  King Makers of Anagha Community on the 20th of May, according to Anagha custom and tradition without his knowledge as Village Head of Anagha. His choice was presented at a general meeting of Anagha  Community Assembly on the 21st of  May, 2020.
He was again unanimously elected by the Assembly to replace HH Nton Ayan Asigbe who passed on in 2013.
HH Simon Esoso Ekom is a member of Beta Loya Age grade, a younger age grade to Mkpanya age grade that was expected to take over the headship. However, because of the leadership qualities of the young man, all members of Mkpanya age grade, including many retired Directors from the state and Federal Civil Service, stepped down for him.
HH Simon Esoso Ekom was presented to Nde Traditional Rulers' Council on the 4th June, 2020 and was admitted into its Council.
Yesterday, 19th June, 2020 HH was formally admitted into Ikom Traditional Rulers' Council by The Paramount Ruler of Ikom in Council, His Majesty, Ntul Emang (Dr) Peter Njul Eku, JP in a colourful coronation ceremony attended by a large crowd of traditional rulers from clans and villages in Ikom LGA, members of Anagha community, and other Nde villages.

Anagha is small Nde speaking community of the Bakor tribe in Ikom LGA of Cross River State.
