END OF CONTINUOUS IRREGULARITY AND FREQUENT HOSTING OF UNRECOGNISED & UNREGISTERED BEAUTY PAGEANT IN CROSS RIVER STATE

The attention of the Association of Beauty Pageant & Fashion Exhibition Organizers of Nigeria, Cross River State Chapter have been drawn to very disturbing proceedings precedents employed by some dubious Fellows who are currently using the name of pageantry to deceive and lure young and innocent youth most especially the ladies in the name of hosting pageantry to cause all kind of havoc thereby messing the pageantry sector and host state, putting us in the pageantry map as a state with the most corrupt pageant settings.

It’s wide disturbing that the continuous acceptance to this very act will not only put our tourism ranking to a jeopardising ending but it will affect the good status the government have been working hard to maintain without suffering Setback enjoy serious scandal even more than it is at the moment.

Therefore, the Association has taken very drastic measures in ensuring that what the pageantry industry in Cross River State had suffered in the past years do not continue in same line but to have a rebranded Industry where our young and passionate folks will regain back their lost interest for the industry.

Let it be on the know that beauty pageant did not start from our days but it is biblical according to the book of Esther 2:17 which makes it not evil or out of context to why we must indulge in the art but when it’s wrongly done or practice then it becomes evil and out place for parent to accept their children gets involve in it.

We are calling on the general public to note that the Association will continue to distance herself from any individual, Brand or organisation that do not duly register and obtain approval from the Association to host his or her pageant in the state, and all disciplinary measures will be taken against such fellow or individual as backed by law.

Members of the public are hereby notified that acquisition CAC Certificate is not a license for operating in the State. Our association is acting as sub-regulatory agency inline with the Federation of Tourism Association of Nigeria (FTAN) and the Cross River State Tourism Bureau for the common good of all. You should bear in mind that it is better we fight together than for an individual to face our common enemy. We at the forefront of the Association must as a matter of duty make it clear to the general public and anyone willing to host or organize any pageant that acquiring a certificate from any regulatory body is not enough for anyone to destroy our collective image by way of staging a poorly organized event in the Cross River State or by other method unknown to law that is capable of destroying the collective image of our noble industry.

The association can no longer endure the embarrassment, insult faced by media personnel, bloggers and the society calling crown Queens all kinds of names  simply because of the too many Queens crowned or pageantry hosted without a defined purpose.

We have taken a decisive decision that any Queen or King seen with a crown and sash from any organisation or Brand that is not properly recognised by the Association or any other government approved agency will suffer embarrassment from us, and striped of their sash and crown until such Brand or organisation get due recognition from the association.

We hereby plead with parent, organisation, association, corporate bodies, Local Government Council Chairmen, institutions, schools, brands and individuals capable, willing  or intending to conduct or host any Beauty Pageant within the state, to do so in a matter that goes inline with the constitutional Bylaws of the Association including obtaining approval and show of prizes to the Association.

The general public is also warned as a matter of carefulness that any individual, Brand or organisation proposing a pageant and can not present you with any approval or endorsement letter from the association such pageant or organizer should be avoided immediately for the purpose of fraud.

Inline with the above, all intending pageants or contestants willing to participate in any pageant across the state without getting proper details about such contest, will be doing so at their own risk as we will help to encourage that such person do not get any recognition anywhere in the state.

We call on all bloggers and media personnel’s to help us spread this news across so that our industry can be free the corrupt practitioners and allow the genuine ones enjoy their genuinity.

TAKE FURTHER NOTICE* that in the event of any negligence and or refusal to heed or comply with the above demand, we shall have no other option but to set the law in motion against the affected.
