 Coco-Bassey Royal House Condemns Attack On Senator Gershom Bassey.

The Coco-Bassey Royal House is saddened by the infiltration of the peaceful protest by political thugs, criminals and street urchin which has led to arson, looting and vandalization of our beloved son's private residence, High Chief Senator Gershom Henry Bassey Jnr. when he was on National Assignment and  the desecration and setting ablaze of the revered and jealously guided family compound of Late Chief Gershom Henry Bassey Snr of Eyamba Clan, one of the founding father of Cross River State, utuenekan Obio Efik(light of Efik land), the house that birth PDP in Cross River State of which many prominent figures in the State and National have dined and wine in that revered building. 


The family considers this act devilish and a concerted  effort to destroy our son's properties and bruise his personality. We condemned it in the strongest possible  term.


We will not condone such act and hereby call on the Executive Governor, Cross River State, Senator Ben Ayade, traditional institutions, and Law enforcement Agencies to investigate and bring to book all those involved in the looting, vandalization and burning down of our son's properties. The government should also extend the investigation to other law abiding Nigerians in the State who suffered similar fate in the hands of this hoodlums.  


The family also called on the youths in the state to respect leaders at all levels, that the only way the State can grow is through dialogue, peace and unity. The family also reinstated their unwavering support to their kin, Obong Ekpe, Senator Gershom Henry Bassey Jnr on his political journey.

  1. It is well sha if the leaders woke up and let the right of the people, peace would have been the lead.
    Don't blame youth some of our elders spoil the youth.
    Imagine leaders without mercy for the poor masses.
    Keeping food even when the eyes of the people flowed blood instead of tears.
    May God punish evil leaders.
