Ahead of the 2023 general election in the state, a socio-political group known as Elite Alliance Movement (EAM) has been inaugurated with members drawn across the three senatorial districts of the state. The group which has Elder Solomon Ika as leader, Mr. Clay Ekpong as deputy leader and Mr Ijom Ukam Esq. as secretary amongst others has the main objective of galvanizing support as well as sensitizing the people on the need for the governorship seat to return to the Southern senatorial district come 2023.


Inaugurating the Elite Alliance Movement, the member representing the Calabar Municipal in the Cross River State House of Assembly, Ntufam Effa Esua reminded the executive and members of the Movement of the selfless task to put personal interest aside while working towards achieving the objective of the group. 


" I want to thank the Exco and members of the Elite Alliance Movement for the confidence reposed in me as well as members of the PDP family for their support. I offer special to thanks to his Excellency, Sen. Prof. Ben Ayade, the digital Governor of Cross River State..."


The leader of the newly inaugurated Elite Alliance Movement, Elder Solomon Ika expressed gratitude for the opportunity to contribute to the socio-political growth of the state and lauded Sen. Prof. Ben Ayade for transforming the state into an industrial hub. He however appealed to people of the state, particularly, the northern and central senatorial districts to support South come 2023 Gubernatorial election. 



In separate Goodwill messages, the member representing Obubra 1 Constituency, Rt Hon. Friday Okpechi and  his Biase counterpart, Rt Hon.  Ogbor Ogbor Udop as well as  former chairman of Yakurr Local Government  council, Hon. Ikpi Akpama said that they were happy identifying with a group such as the Elite Alliance Movement for putting the peace and unity of the state ahead of personal interests adding that the greatest dividend of democracy is to have a peaceful and United society where meaningful development can thrive. 


In his remark, the chairman, Central planning committee, Mr Tony Maurice said the Elite Alliance Movement was revived by the vision bearer, Elder Solomon Ika.He also appreciated the dedication of members of the newly inaugurated Exco., especially the deputy Leader, Mr. Clay Ekpong, the Secretary Barr. Ijom Ukam and other members of the Inauguration Planning Committee.
