Elite Alliance Movement Inaugurates Exco, Calls on Cross Riverians To Support The Southern Senatorial District Ahead of 2023 Guber Election.

Elite Alliance Movement, a socio-political group with members cutting across the three Senatorial  districts of Cross River State has been inaugurated. 

The inauguration which took place on Sunday, May 2, 2021 in Calabar, the state capital, had in attendance top Cross River politicians, businessmen, clergies, stakeholders and stalwarts of the People's Democratic Party PDP to mention but a few.  

The group which has Elder Solomon Ika as leader, Mr Clay Ekpong as deputy leader and Mr Ijom Ukam Esq as Secretary amongst others has its main objectives of galvanizing support as well as sensitizing people on the need to support the Southern Senatorial District to produce the next governor of the state come 2023. 

Inaugurating the Elite Alliance Movement (EAM) member representing Calabar Municipal in the Cross River State House of Assembly, Ntufam Hon. Effa Esua, charged the executive and members of the Movement to put the objectives of the group ahead of their personal interests, stressing that for the movement to achieve its goal, there is need for personal sacrifices and commitment from members. 

Speaking, lifelong entrepreneur and leader of the newly inaugurated Elite Alliance Movement, Elder Solomon Ika expressed gratitude for the opportunity to contribute to the socio-political advancement of the state through advocacy for equity, Justice and fairness.  Elder Ika lauded the Governor, Sen. Prof. Ben Ayade for transforming the state into an industrial hub. He however appealed to Cross Riverians from across the three Senatorial districts, especially the North end central to support the Southern mandate come 2023 Guber polls.

"... I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to contribute my quota towards the socio-political advancement of CRS through my advocacy for equity, justice and fairness in our polity. I am so pleased to be surrounded by this crop of special guests..."

In separate Goodwill messages, the member representing Obubra 1 State constituency in the Cross River State House of Assembly, Hon Friday Okpechi and his Biase counterpart, Rt Hon. Ogbor Ogbor Udop as well as former chairman of Yakurr Local Government council, Hon. Ikpi Akpama, while expressing joy in identifying with the organization's objective, stressed on the need for Cross Riverians to maintain the power rotation principle currently operational in the state as this has enthroned peace, unity and stability. 

" There's need to advocate for the sustenance of the current rotational principle of governorship in the state as altering it might jeopardize the peace, unity and stability currently enjoyed in the state." One of them said. 


In his remark, the Chairman, Central planning committee, Mr Tony Maurice, thanked all members for their cooperation which he said has led to a successful inauguration, urging them to continue to support initiatives that would move Cross River state forward. He attributed the revival of the Movement to the vision bearer and newly inaugurated leader Elder Solomon Ika, describing him as a man of many parts with the capacity to take Elite Alliance Movement to the promised Land.
