World Food Day: Odey attends Event organised by Cross River State liaison Office, Lagos

Renowned Accountant and Grassroots Development Expert, Elder Dr Odey Ndoma on Monday attended the event organised by the Cross River state liaison office, Lagos to mark the 2023 World Food Day.  

The event which held at the Cross River Liaison Office, 6C club road, ikoyi, Lagos with the theme," Water is life, water is food" was to highlight the importance of food security and to raise awareness on the need for sustainable food practices.

Odey, in his remark, commended the Cross River State Government for organising such an event and emphasised the need for everyone to contribute their quota to ensuring sustainable food practices to tackle the challenges of food security. 

Meanwhile, wife of the governor of Cross River state, Her Excellency Evang. Eyoanwan Edet Otu has pledged the state government's commitment to ensuring water and food security for all Cross Riverians. 

Her Excellency, who was represented by her SA Domestic, Mrs Nancy Bassey Olatunji made this commitment before hundreds of Cross Riverians residents in Lagos who were at the liaison office to commemorate this year's World Food Day.  The first lady asserted that the state is blessed with a vast and fertile land and that the government is willing to utilise this great asset to create job opportunities, revenue and food sufficiency for the people. 

The event brought together s Cross Riverians from different sectors, especially those residents in Lagos to discuss ways of improving sustainable food practices and how individuals can play their part in promoting food security, notable among is the President of Cross River State Community, Lagos, Chief Innocent Ogar. 

To add spice to the event, there was a cultural troupe to entertain guests and several other captivating activities.
