Executive Of The Association Of Women Farmers Cross River State Pays A Courtesy Call On Humanitarian Affairs Commissioner

Executive of The Association of Women Farmers paid a courtesy call to the Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs today. 

They were thrilled to have had the opportunity to discuss the challenges faced by women farmers in our community and the importance of their inclusion in humanitarian efforts. 

Madam Rose Victor Okon the cordinator, Akamkpa LGA. Speaking on behalf of the LGA cordinators, expressed their gratitude to the Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs for her time and willingness to engage with them. 

During the meeting, Madam Immaculata Nyong, The State Cordinator of the Association highlighted the significant contributions women farmers make to food security, sustainable agriculture and rural development. She emphasized the need for gender-responsive policies and programs that recognize and support their vital role. 

The Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs, Dr Helen Isamoh- Egodo expressed sincere appreciation for their visit and assured them of her commitment to promoting gender equality and empowering women farmers. She acknowledged the unique challenges faced by women in agriculture and promised partner with relevant bodies to work towards creating an enabling environment for their success.
