With the recent dramatic happenings in the country, Nigerians have been made to look out for new episodes of national drama every single moment. Now that the RUGA project to a large extent has come to an end,( that is if the suspension is the same thing as abandonment of the project) like others such as transmission transmission, lost of maze in the National Assembly, the question Nigerians must ask is what is next? What should we expect in the next minute, hour or day? And what is the hope for the geographical entity known as Nigeria.

But before that, let us briefly review some of the events that have  kept our nations busy for sometimes now. The review is in no particular order of occurrence.

1.The case of Regina Daniel and Net Nwoko: The marriage of teenaged Actress Regina Daniels to Billionaire Politician Ned Nwoko sparked a huge reaction in the country as both celebrities and other concerned Nigerians reacted and countered the union. This, though not the first episode in the dramatic series of the country Nigeria but it marked a great deal in the development of the story as single ladies who should be worrying about how to secure husbands for themselves took to the social media to vent their frustrations on the young  girl, who to me escaped the trap being a celebrity brings upon some women. The marriage women too who should rather concentrate on their marriage abandoned their pots on fire to attack the Actress and her mother, whom they claimed was behind the wrong decision of her celebrity daughter. They called her a lot of names and made a lot of noises. Some spoke in favor of her decision. And like the usual Nigerian drama series, she didn't throw open  her wedding, if at all there was anything like that, to the public and kept silent until the initiation ritual proved guesses right. But it didn't change the girl's decision. That became an award winning episode.

2. The case of Naira Marley and the EFCC: While Regina Daniel and Ned Nwoko's episode was still running, the Naira Marley Vs EFCC  drama ensued. ' Am I a yahoo boy became a trend and many Nigerians took to the media to condemn or praise the accused or the EFCC.  Media practitioners made a fortune out of it and the young man spend a good time in the EFCC's custody. That one became an international episode.

3. The herdsmen Vs farmers clashes: The episode where the lives of cows are more valuable than  humans became a hit, coupled with the Federal Government silence over the wanton killing of lives and unjustifiable destruction of properties. The herdsmen farmers drama has been the longest in the history of Nigeria cinema of national shame. In the drama, politics and religions became lead actors. Struggle for acquisition of foreign lands became a priority. This episode, until now has engaged the Nigerian populace in no small way.

 4. The Snake and the swallow of Millions:
The one that won an international Award of shame for the country is the missing cash in Ikoyi which was allegedly swallowed by a snake or so. This episode ran in the media for a very long time because of the interesting nature of the storyline but we can't tell how it ended.

5. The Gorilla and the missing Millions: In the manner of the Snake and the money story, another award winning drama came to the fore where a gorilla was alleged to have swallowed a huge sum of money in a zoo. This episode shook the Nigerian market. The lies ran for long and faded.
How it ended Nigerians can't say.

6. The Transmission Transmission: In the episode of national shame and evidence of backwardness in education, the transmission transmission drama came to the fore. Even those who, too could not read and write effectively made the social media their theater of mockery and blasted  the Leader for his inability to read what he wrote himself.

7. COZA Rape scandal:
The episode in the National series of shame that rocked the drama heaven Nigeria and almost  tumbled the country is the Coza rape scandal. Apart from shamefully condemning and passing a judgement on the accused pastor  and unjustifiably blaming Mrs Dakolo for speaking up, elebrities and other concerned Nigerians, including members of his church took to the street to protest. Some lawyers who are confused without legal background began to call on the pastor to surrender himself to the police. The inventors of all social media increase their revenue as Nigerians kept themselves glued to the screen not to miss any scene in the episode. The pastor had to step down to following calls from the public.

8. RUGA and the Nigerian Government:  While the COZA RAPE scandal heightens, RUGA Herdsmen Settlement surfaces. The Federal Government in her dramatic attempt to impose the Fulani settlement in all the 36 states of the federal did not only spark fire but burnt the hearts of other nationalities to resist even with the last drop of their blood.  Opinions flowed, for and against the project. Lies too were traded to woo and to stop the project. But at last the Nigerian people won. They data on social media and shouts in their private houses paid off. After much pressure, the President backs down in his unpopular policy.

9. Senator Elisha and  the assault: While both both the COZA scandal and the RUGA episodes were going on, another drama came to the front burner, the alleged assaulte on a poor lady by a distinguished senator of the federation! Distinguished? You may ask? Yes but his attacking behavior made him less. This episode too has been making wave with several stakeholders demanding for his immediate arrest and prosecution! To make it more interesting, he came out to justify himself too without allowing his attorney to do the work.

10.  The Fight in the House of Representatives: While the president put to a temporary rest the RUGA episode, another drama played out in the lower chamber of the National Assembly where people we call the honourable members engage in the iron age physical combat. Have our honourables turned into wrestlers and boxers, you may ask.

With all these dramas happening, no Nigerian would be wrong to wake up every day and to ask, what is next.

But like seriously, what will happen next? And what is the fate of our nation in years to come, with all these dramas of shame and backwardness?
