The Leadership Academy, Odukpani Chapter under the leadership of Mr. Kingsley Ikpeme yesterday paid a courtesy visit to the former Deputy Governor of Cross River State, Barr. Efiok Cohbam in felicitation to his successful completion of his 8 year itch free tenure in office as a distinguish Odukpani Son who served as Deputy Governor of the State.
In pressing their mark further, the group expressed their purpose through offer of 'gift' item to the former Deputy Governor.
Very notably was an outpour of accolades for his feat at the gubernatorial polls to deliver successfully the PDP candidate as the Director General against all odds and rhetoric.
High point of the event centered on the lingering communal crises rocking many communities in Odukpani Local Government Area that have resulted in the sack of indigenes of the Local Government which in turn has grossly affected the local economy.
They complained the inability to access certain communities in the LGA owning to the constant attack by foreign invaders.
The group noted that their visit was to remind Odukpani sons and daughters of high authority to their obligations of service in the interest of the LGA, hence, in unity call on the National Boundary Commission to properly delineate boundaries in contention and which will inturn put an end to these lingering crises causing bloodshed.

Reacting, Barr. Efiok Cohbam stated his input and sacrifices of Government to end this sad occurrences which has today truncated economic activities.
"It is sad that our youth would take weapons against each other at the behest of some unreasonable traditional rulers and chiefs, causing mayhem, sacking homes and turning land owners to refuges" he said.
He also noted Government's constant intervention to end such occurrences and most assuredly said, there's positive response from various parties as negotiations are ongoing.
"Meetings are ongoing and I can assure you, we will get positive results".
He then charged the Academy to serve as a middle man between enlightened youth and the gullible ones in the villages who will at the drum of war by certain aggrieved elders pull out their weapons without thinking about the repercussions.
"if any Chief or politicians wants war, tell him let his son lead and you will follow behind and watch them chicken out", he added.

The leader of the academy through it's secretary in a closing remark appreciated his kind gesture through fatherly contributions, advice and a warm welcome of his own people to his abode even in pressing
