The association disclosed this on Tuesday during a courtesy visit to the honourable commissioner for humanitarian affairs, Dr. Helen Egodo, in her office at Hope Waddel Avenue, Calabar. The competition, which will be between students of the University of Cross River State (Unicross) and the University of Calabar (Unical) is aimed at showing appreciation to the commissioners for their contributions toward the development of Biase Local Government Area and their continuous support for the association.

Speaking, president of the National Association of Biase Students, *Comrade Prince Otu Akamgbor*, congratulated the commissioner on her meritorious appointment, while expressing gratitude to the state governor, His Excellency, Sen. Prince Otu for appointing two youthful, aluta conscious and capable people of Biase extraction into the state executive council. He acknowledged the commissioner's dedication to service,  while commending her for the role she played in the recent rescue of the abandoned children at satellite town, providing them with care and attention, and further demonstrating *Gov. Otu's* 'People First' agenda.

He expressed the association's confidence in her capacity to deliver on her new office as commissioner as well as meet the humanitarian needs of Cross Riverians. "As an association, we pledge our unalloyed support to continually and graciously join whatever movement you deem fit to bring good tidings to the people of Cross River State. Because of your zeal and passion for Cross River, we have renamed you God's sent" He concluded.

In her reaction, the Honourable Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs, Hon. Dr. Mrs Helen Isamoh Egodo, warmly welcomed the students, while expressing appreciation for the proposed football competition and the recognition accorded them. She maintained that, as a member of the pioneer executive committee of the association, she was honoured as well as happy to receive them in her office. The commissioner assured them of her support whenever the need arises, while charging them to continue to strive for excellence in their academic pursuits and in the development of Biase. She emphasized the government's commitment to providing humanitarian supports for all Cross Riverians.
