C'River Commissioner For Youth Development, Ijom Ukam Undertakes An On-The -Spot Inspection Of Facilities At The University of Calabar's Entrepreneurship Development Centre. 

The Honourable Commissioner for Youth Development Barr Ijom Ukam*  undertook an on the spot inspection of facilities at the  Entrepreneurship Development Center of the University of Calabar. The inspection is at the instance of the governor, His Excellency Sen. Prince Bassey Otu's readiness to begin the training of the teeming youths of Cross River State in different entrepreneurial skills in other to make them self-reliant and employer of labour in the near future. An initiative that will break the vicious arm of idleness amongst the youths and also repositioning them as good ambassadors and contributors to the state and nation's economy. 

The Honourable Commissioner was led round the facilities by the Director of the center Dr. Anagbogu German Effa. The tour took different turns and twists round the esthetically equipped facilities and or departments such as, the Fashion Designing, ICT, Mushroom Farm, Fish-Farm, Barbing/Hairdressing departments etc.

Barr Ijom Ukam unwittingly expressed his delight at what he saw, noting that his ministry is looking forward to partnering with the center to train Cross River State youths in various skills in other to make them productive citizens, rather than just being consumptive citizens which will in turn have a positive domino effect on the state cum Nigeria at large. The Honourable Commissioner also averred that his boss, the executive Governor of the state, His Excellency Sen. Prince Bassey Edet Otu is determine and ready to domesticate what can be termed as "SKILLS ON THE HAND" which according to him is the highest empowerment that can be given to anyone; reiterating that the governor wants to lead an endearing Cross River State where the youths can be equipped and empowered with the entrepreneurial skills to contribute their quota in curbing the scourge of unemployment Bedeviling the nation.  According to him, first batch of about *Two Thousand (2,000)*  youths are to be trained and empowered by the state government under the ministry of youth development any moment soon.
