The Secretary to the Cross River State Government, Barr. Mrs Tina Banku Agbor has felicitated with Cross Riverians as they mark the resurrection of Jesus Christ on the 12th of April 2020. The SSG who urged the good people of Cross River State to emulate the footsteps of Jesus Christ, especially in his sacrifice for humanity commended Gov. Ben Ayade's proactive measures in preventing the spread of the novel corona virus pandemic codenamed Covid-19 from entering the state.

Barr. Tina who expressed satisfaction in Gov. Ayade's timely border closure and provision of palliatives for the vulnerables in the state, maintained that constant hand washing, social distancing, regular use of nose masks and other healthy practices would help keep the state free from the pandemic.

"I wish to specially celebrate and commend my Governor and boss, Prof. Ben Ayade for his proactive measures in preventing the virus from entering our dear state, especially his timely closure of borders and provision of palliative to reduce the hardship brought about by the outbreak of the pandemic.

Easter is always a season of sacrifice; of circumscribing one’s interest, desires and needs for causes that are greater than ours; it also symbolizes victory over the forces of hatred, betrayal, anger and vile temperaments. No one epitomises this selfless quality more than our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.".

She said the pandemic is meant to draw humanity closer to the creator rather than instigate fear and anxiety.

"The global pandemic should bring humanity closer to God, to seek for his mercy and gracious intervention. I therefore urge all Christians to continue to hope and believe in God and in his only begotten son Jesus Christ in this challenging time imbibing the spirit of Faith and Victory to combat all fears and afflictions as all these  challenges are temporary.

She further advised the citizens to obey Cross River State Government's  directive to help prevent the spread of the deadly corona virus pandemic from entering the state.

Barr. Tina Banku Agbor, further implored Cross Riverians to consistently engage in prayers for the well-being of the State as well as support the industrialization drivve of the Gov. Ben Ayade led administration.

"May our actions beginning from this Easter celebration and beyond inspire us to love more, live more healthy, be more united and do more to advance the interest of the great and wonderful people of Cross River State".

She quoted a passage from the Holy Bible "Except the Lord watcheth over a city the watch men watcheth but in vain". She therefore seized the opportunity to wish the people a healthy Easter holiday and celebration.
