In Life there are just two days for every mankind, a day FOR us, and a day AGAINST Us. On the 31st day of March 2020, life and destiny came against us and took one of our finest. Today, we bow our heads not in prayer but in pains. Today, we bow our heads not in triumph but in travails, for amongst us, lies a comrade who has fallen in the line of battle. But then we are consoled by the fact that, once a man is born, he is old enough to die. The tragedy of death is but for the living as we live to die someday and die to live somewhere where eternity beckons.

Comrade Okan Peter might have fallen but his legacies lives on. Today, I call on all spirited comrades, progress minded men and women for us to immortalize Okan Peter, who fought gallantly and fervently in service of humanity. I call on all Leaders of Obubra, Mbembe Nation, Cross River State and all Progressive Youths to answer this clarion call of  Immortalizing Okan Peter.

It is expedient to stress that Okan Peter's demise should be a rallying point and a unifying arsenal towards bringing Obubra sons and daughters together in pursuit of a NEW OBUBRA, where we shall all be our brothers keeper. A NEW OBUBRA where the pain of one is the pain of all. A NEW OBUBRA where our leaders will be willing to encourage, support and always aid their young ones. A NEW OBUBRA of our collective dreams, where we shall all be proud to be called Obubra Sons and Daughters.

Let the death of Okan Peter give us the reason to always encourage our brothers and sisters no matter how little. The Only way to immortalize Okan Peter is to achieve that NEW OBUBRA that he fought for and died fighting for. *Hence I hereby propose that the leaders of Obubra Immortalize Okan Peter by organizing an Annual Memorial Lecture/Symposium on every 31st of March. The memorial lecture/symposium shall be an avenue to review our journey annually in pursuit of a NEW OBUBRA.*

I hereby call on our Leaders, Hon. Peter Egba, Hon. Blessing Egbara, Rt. Hon. Mike Etaba, Dr. Bassey Tom, Rt. Hon. FG Okpechi, Hon. Alex Irek, Hon. Ernest Irek, Hon. Frank Ovat, Chief Barr. Chris Omukwu, Hon. Leonard Ogwa, Elder Johnson Ogwa etc.

I hereby call on all Pioneer Leaders and initiators of the NEW OBUBRA PROJECT, Snr. Comrade Richie Romanus, Snr. Comrade Dan Obo, Comr. Ofadim Clement, Comr. Paddy Tom, Comr. Theophilus Abri, Comr. Justin Obongha, Comr. Bright Irek, etc.

This is the time to revolutionalize. This is the time to achieve a New Obubra of our collective dreams.
Let's Immortalize OKAN PETER.
OKAN PETER SHALL NOT DIE IN VAIN.
Just Like the death of Jesus Christ ushered in a new dispensation of Grace, let the death of Okan Peter usher in a NEW OBUBRA WHERE WE SHALL ALL BE OUR BROTHERS KEEPERS.
