The Senator representing Cross River South at the red chambers joyfully Fecilitates with Christians faithfuls in Cross river and Nigeria at large. As we celebrate this easter, it again proffers us the lucid opportunity of sober reflection, and thanksgiving on the death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ which has in turn washed away our sins and made us whole. Urging them to imbibe the virtues of love, sacrifice and peace as exemplified by Christ Jesus.
No doubt, this has not been the best of times for us as a result of the Covid-19 ravaging the world. While it has cursed hardship and hunger for some, others it has caused fear and Panic. But in all, we take solace in the fact that Christ died for us, so that we can be safe and saved. And thus; this is just another challenge that we shall triumph together.
The senator also calls for Cross Riverians to display their uncommon spirit of love at this time, Stating that our Steadfastness in hope and obstinate for love and humanity should be our driving factor as we cross this hurdle.
Sen. Gershom Bassey also stated that apart from donating half of his salaries with his colleagues at the red chambers to curb the spread of Covid-19, he would work closely with Cross River State Government to ensure that plights of cross Riverians are reduced, especially in the Southern senatorial district.
Sen. Gershom Bassey also lauded the quick intervention of the Gov. Ben Ayade's led govt in the wake of Covid-19, and the good people of Cross River state for their unalloyed compliance which has propagated the state as one of the safest in the country.
