Amon Kingdom Pays Solidarity Visit To The Honourable Commissioner For Humanitarian Affairs 


The Amon Kingdom of Biase LGA, Cross River State, paid a solidarity visit to the Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs, Dr. Helen Egodo, to felicitate with the commissioner on her appointment and her assumption of office. 

The team was a conglomeration of individuals from various fields, professions,Political parties and works of life. 

After the presentation of congratulatory and felicitation speeches from individuals, the team implored  the commissioner to adopt social/political inclusion without bias In her approach to leadership.

Speaking on behalf of the people, Hon. Bassey Sunday, the Umon South Ward Leader of the Ruling All Progressive Congress (APC), who led the delegation revealed that the purpose of the visit could be viewed in 3 aspects; firstly to thank almighty God for the privilege to gather together, secondly , to thank His Excellency, Sen. Prince Bassey Edet Otu, the Governor of CRS for finding Dr. Helen worthy of being in the cabinet then lastly to Fecilitate with the Commissioner on her new Feat. 

He also appreciated the entire Biase community for their collective efforts,commitments and synergy during the last elections. 

Hon. Bassey concluded with a prayer to God to  guide and enable the Honorable commissioner as she discharges  her responsibilities. He also relayed the regards and tidings from those who could not make it for the visit, due to some exigences.

Comr. Prince Ojoi Chairman of National Youth Council of Nigeria, Biase Chapter presented a portrait to the Honourable Commissioner On behalf of Amon Youths in Nigeria and in diaspora.

He stated that the Amon kingdom pledges their resolute support to the young leader and HE Prince Otu in his administration. 

Dr. Helen Egodo the commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs expressing her gratitude to her constituents, urged for steadfast unity, support and patriotism for the advancement of the Amon kingdom and Cross River State at large. 

“I would not fail to appreciate HE SEN Prince Bassey Otu for finding me worthy and I pledge my total commitment to the this mandate handed to me as I will ensure the improvement in the living conditions of Cross Riverians” She added.

Wines, portraits and other items were presented to the Honorable commissioner to show respect and appreciation as enshrined in the customs and traditions of the Biase people.
