Agbokim waterfall to become a significant Power Source for Cross River State - Eka Williams


The  Cross River State Government through the Ministry of Power and Renewable Energy has unveiled plans to transform the natural wonders of Agbokim Waterfall into a significant power source.

 

This was stated by the Commissioner for Power and Renewable Energy,  Prince Eka Williams during a meeting with  a representative of Aiteo Energy Resources Limited. 

The Commissioner said Sino Hydro, a company based in China  has already conducted  feasibility studies to evaluate the technical and commercial viability of the Agbokim Waterfall power project.


Commissioner Eka, mandated Engr. Mogbor, to make available the needed material to enable  the Group Managing Director, power infrastructure and real estate, Dr. Ransome Owan to a carry out a review of the feasibility study carried out by Sino Hydro for the purpose of attracting investors and funding.


On his Part, the Group Managing Director, power infrastructure and real estate, Dr Ransome Owan, who was The poineer Chairman, Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission, opined that The Port Harcourt Electricity Distribution Company could be off takers and other eligible costumers like the banks, industries and business among others.
