NYCN Cross River South Exco Pays Courtesy Call On The Commissioner For Humanitarian Affairs 

The executives of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) Cross River South Chapter paid a courtesy visit to the Honorable Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs, Dr Helen Isamoh - Egodo in her office earlier today. 


The visit,was part of their efforts to engage with key stakeholders and foster a constructive dialogue on pressing issues affecting the youths while exploring potential collaborations and support for their fourth coming Youth Leadership Conference.


Comr Benjamin Edet, Chairman Organizing Committee for the 2023 Southern Youth Leadership Conference stated that the Conference seeks to create awareness and bring to limelight the responsibilities of Youths, Youth Councils and Youth Leadership in advancing Personal/ societal development with focus on Politics & Public Service, Wildlife Conservation & Forest Preservation, Community Poly, Conflict Resolution & Peace Building, Climate Action/ Environmental Management & protection, Gender Mainstreaming, Girl Child Education / Empowerment, Youths & Youth Leadership/  Civic Responsibilities, etc. 


The Conference theme: “ Empowering Tomorrow through Strategic Leadership, Good Governance and Sustainable Development: The Role of Youths / Youth Councils” will be gathering over 2,000 Youths for reformation and mentorship from well informed experts, International Agencies and organizations. 


Comr Elvis Enyam the Vice Chairman NYCN Cross River South revealed that in connection with the professional experience of the Honorable Commissioner on Gender Issues haven been a Special Adviser on Gender in the last administration, her vast knowledge in politics as the Cross River South Women Leader of the All Progress Congress (APC) and her current appointment as the Commissioner for Humanitarian which saddles her with critical responsibilities, she has been invited to participate in the Conference as one of the Key note speakers. 


He,went further to specifically invite the Commissioner as one of the recipients of the Role Model Awards which will be conferred on worthy role models at the Dinner and Celebration Convergence in Honour of the illustrious Sons and Daughters of Cross River South.


Comr Happiness U. Ogban, Member, Organizing Committee Poured admiration on the Commissioner and appreciated her for setting the pace and being a role model to young women in Politics, Leadership and Cross River State at large. 


Dr Egodo,appreciated the team for the visit and obliged to their invitation, promising to share her invaluable knowledge and wealth of experience  as an inspiration and motivation to every young person who wish to thrive in their chosen endeavors and career paths.
