OBUBRA BEHOLD YOUR MOSES; THE RETURN OF THE MESSIAH - DR BASSEY AGARA TOM

When a nation is in disarray and mash, the people yearn for a change. And when such yearnings persist, there attract God's attention, especially when there emanate from lubish hearts which determines the acts of God. This was the case of the Israelites who were dreed by the malevolent Pharaoh in the land of Egypt until God eventually heard their yens and decided to send them a man called Moses to deliver them from the hands of the culpable Egyptians after several years of anguish.

Some of you that have been reading my articles can attest to the fact that, I have in several occasions brought to our consciousness, how the people of Obubra local government Area have been enfeebled and plundered over the years. The exacerbation of the unsavory has persistently coerced the people, especially some concerned patriots to yearn like the Israelites, God finally heard the cry by sending to us, our own "Moses," _Hon. Dr Bassey Agara Tom_ to pilot the affairs of Obubra LGA.
The battle wasn't  an easy task for Moses who fought tooth and nail in a bit to deliver his people from the voraciousness. Although, the battle was tough for him,  God's  presence never left him. It got to a point that even his own people rose up against him and called him names. However, God avenged for him because he has been ordained for that purpose. That is the case of the current Executive Chairman of Obubra local government Area, Hon.  Dr Bassey Agara Tom whom I call god-sent Angel to Obubra.
God has finally brought him to us despite all odds. And today, we are all celebrating his emergence as the Chairman of Council.

Obubra LG, behold your "Moses." Remember the days of your yearnings, reflect and cogitate on the state of your dear local government Area; the depletion, the vilification, denigration and abandonment. Entreat your "moses" with caution and love because he is your godsend.
Permit me to take us back to the days when Obubra was regarded as one of the most formidable LGAs in Cross River State. Older than Nigeria itself, it wouldn't be out of place to say that Obubra has what it takes to be venerated by other LGAs in the State and in the country at large.

Some decades ago, the glory of Obubra was conspicuous during the reign of Dr Joseph Ubugha Eyaba whose laudable performance as the Chairman of Obubra LGA still speaks for him even in death. In the same vein, Obubra became one of the most respected local government Areas in Cross River State when Chief John Oyom Okpa of blessed memory was the Deputy Governor of the State. Today they are no more. It seems like the center could not hold as the unity tends to be divvied up and ushered in idiosyncrasy amongst the people. This has inadvertently contributed immensely  to the seeming ostensible doom that Obubra has wallowed over the years and still basking in the wyrd.

The younger generation has suffered this fate and opted to agitating for a new Obubra of their dream; a formidable and venerative place like the time of late Chief John Oyom Okpa. A new Obubra where the ills can be corrected irrespective of the current state. A new Obubra where development will become conspicuous. A new Obubra where the youths can be empowered and be caused to eschew violence in the society. A new Obubra where war-related issues can be resolved amicably. A new Obubra where everyone can be carried along in governance. A new Obubra that will become an alluring center for investors. A place of honour, a place of peace and above all, a place of unity and love irrespective of external forces etc.
It is said that a man can only be addressed in accordance with his mode of dressing. This implies that as a people, it behoves us to do the needful in order to allure veneration from external bodies.

Today, God has given the people of Obubra a "Moses," _Dr Bassey Agara Tom_ to lead us to our place of dream. The sole responsibility now lies on all of us to uphold and assist him to actualise this dream.
I therefore adjure all and sundry; the leaders, the youths and the women to join hands and work in pari passu with the Executive Chairman of Obubra LGA, _Hon. Dr Bassey Agara Tom_ and his team to ensure that the dreams of having a new Obubra becomes possible and actualised. By this, the glory of Obubra can be restored.
