C'River: Ministry of Humanity and Social welfare provides palliative for staff of Government owned social institutions during COVID-19 lockdown

The Ministry of Humanity and Social Welfare, Cross River State has provided palliatives for staff of Government owned social institutions to help reduce the effect of the hardship resulting from the outbreak of corona virus pandemic in the country.
Presenting the palliatives consisting of bags of Rice, garri and cash to staff of one of the state owned orphanage in Calabar, precisely at Uwanse, the Honourable commissioner for Humanity and social welfare, Mrs Blessing Egbara said the package was to meant to assist staff of the ministry cushion the effect of the pandemic. While urging staff to pray to God to heal the world of the plague, the commissioner promised to always, through her office assist them from time to time.
"We are aware that many of our staff need our assistance in this period of hardship and so we have made provisions to support you however little to help reduce your sufferings. We will continue to assist staff until this challenge is overcome.
A recipient and one of the staff of the ministry,
Mrs Jane bassey described the gesture as commendable and a way to encourage staff to work harder.
" It is very expedient for the ministry to remember staff in this hard time. It is commendable and so we thank the Governor of Cross River State, Sen Ben Ayade and the commissioner for humanity and social welfare Mrs Blessing Egbara. But we would need more help"
The distribution of the palliatives to staff at Uwanse also coincided with the birthday celebration of one Miss Okpa Lydia Bernard, a student of the University of Calabar who came to the orphanage with friends to mark her day with children of the home.
