Councillor representing Osopong Ward 1 Hon. Anthony Onagha emerges majority Leader of Obubra legislative council, sues for peace in Obubra



The Councilor representing Osopong Ward 1, Hon. Anthony Ebokdima Onagha has emerged the majority leader of the 7th assembly of Obubra legislative council. The councilor who  was yesterday inaugurated alongside ten others has pledged to, in collaboration with various stakeholders, put modalities in place to arrest the recurring communal crises between neighboring Ebonyi state and Cross River.

Hon. Tony who is adjudged the youngest councillor, while speaking to Eriacy Confidence of Coneri Magazine in his reception venue held at Chief Ernest Irek's resident appealed to both parties to sheath their swords and embrace dialogue in the interest of peace.

The inauguration of the 7th Assembly  which took place at the legislative chamber, Obubra LG council  had in attendance the Executive Chairman of the Local Government, Hon. Dr Bassey Agara Tom, the member representing Obubra 2 state constituency in the Cross River State House of Assembly Hon Frank Ovat, the Commissioner for industry, Hon Peter Akam,appointees and other distinguished sons and daughters of the LGA.



During the inauguration, the following principal officers were elected by members:
