 Ofodua Leaders Meet With Obubra Council Boss, Dr. Bassey Tom, Appeals For Construction Of The Alternative Road To Calabar Through Ugep.

The delegation which comprised chiefs and other community leaders was yesterday July 29th led by the Hon councilor representing Ofodua Ward in the legislature, Hon Philip Ayo. In a letter signed by  the clan head of Ofodua, Chief Festus Awodua, the community first congratulated the Chairman for coming out victorious in the last council election that ushered him into the office as the executive chairman of Obubra LGA.

They appealed to the Chairman to  remember the community in his appointments, help them with pipe borne water and construction of roads in the area. The community emphasized on a particular road which according to them is a unique alternative road which also serves as a way to Calabar through Ugep. They further solicited support from the Chairman in the development of the community and wished him a successful tenure in office.

On his part, the Chairman, Dr Bassey Agara Tom appreciated them for the visit and the congratulatory message addressed to him. He charged the people to always maintain peace in their community while supporting his administration, adding that he was ready to work with them for the development of Obubra. Dr Bassey assured them that soon, the government owned organisation called RUWATSSA whose responsibility is to restore all government owned facilities including water facilities in the local government areas will visit the LGA, he will not hesitate to include Ofodua community into the scheme. He said the alternative road mentioned in the letter going by reality, is a perfect idea to fix it for the safety of Obubra people during difficult times. The Chairman promised to serve Obubra people diligently through out his stay in office as chairman.
