The leadership of the above mentioned community had yesterday 30th July, 2020 met with the executive chairman of Obubra Local Government Area, Hon. Dr. Bassey Agara Tom in his office.
Speaking in the meeting, the Head chief of the community, Chief Agara Ekawa
Congratulated the chairman for his victory and successful swearing in as Chairman of council. He further described Dr. Tom as a man send by God to liberate Obokpa community from their known marginalisation and neglect. He further complained to the Chairman that Obokpa community has not been enjoying the dividends of Democracy like other communities. According to the chief, Obokpa community has no good road, water and town hall. He also complained to the Chairman that Obokpa community is not always carried along both in appointments and elective positions. He pleaded with the Chairman to help correct all the wrongs in his reign and make Obokpa a happy community to reside.
Also speaking in the meeting, the executive chairman of council, Hon. Dr. Bassey Agara Tom appreciated the Obokpa people for their continuous patience as a community. He also appreciated them for their peaceful nature in the LGA and further promised to do his best to ensure equity throughout his reign as Chairman of council.
