Etaba, Egbara, Egba, Ovat, Obo And Other Top Leaders Storm Obubra For The Burial Of Pa Gabriel Okpechi, Father Of Hon. Friday Okpechi,


Top leaders of Obubra extraction earlier today August 1st 2020 stormed Obubra  Local Government Area for the burial of Late Pa Gabriel Okpechi, father of Hon. Friday Okpechi, member representing Obubra 1 state constituency in the Cross River State House of Assembly.

The burial which was adjudged one of the most attended funerals in recent times had in attendance, chairman house committee on legislative budget and research and member representing OBUBRA/ETUNG Federal Constituency Rt. Hon Mike Etaba, the Honourable Commissioner For Humanity And Social Welfare, Cross River State, Hon. Mrs. Blessing Egbara, The Honourable Commissioner For Industries, Cross River State, Hon. Peter Egba, Member representing Obubra 2 State Constituency  in the Cross River house of Assembly, Hon. Frank Ovat, The Executive chairman of Obubra Local Government council, Hon. Dr. Bassey Agara Tom, The Chairman of the National Youth Council Of Nigeria, Cross River State chapter, His Youthfulness, Comr. Dan Obo Jnr and other top leaders of Obubra extraction.


In a condolence message, the executive chairman of Obubra Local Government council, Hon Dr Bassey Agara Tom,  on behalf of the entire people of Obubra local Government Area commiserated with the family of Hon Friday Gabriel Okpechi, the honourable member representing Obubra 1 state constituency in the Cross River State House of Assembly, describing the demise of  late pa Gabriel Eyache Okpechi as great loss to both the family and the entire people of the Local Government.

The chairman said as a council, they were deeply sad by his death because of his invaluable contributions and achievements, which he will be greatly remembered for. He added that his long sojourn on earth was a testament to his goodwill towards mankind.

The chairman encouraged the family to be consoled by the fact that their late father, pa Gabriel Eyache lived a good life while on earth and prayed God to grant the soul of late pa Gabriel Eyache a peaceful rest in the bosom of the Lord, and give the bereaved family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.

Similarly, the Honourable Commissioner For Humanity and Social Welfare, Hon. Mrs Blessing Egbara who described the decease as a loving husband, father, a community leader and role model to several people in Obubra however urged the family to take consolation in the legacy he left behind, especially in the fact that one of his sons is now an honorable member in the state.


On his part, the chairman of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, Cross River State chapter, his youthfulness, Snr Comr. Dan Obo Jnr said Late Pa Gabriel Okpechi lived a life worthy of emulation and ought to be celebrated and immortalized instead of being mourned. He maintained that apart from the fact that, he lived up above 70 years, his legacies are littered on the street.

 In another development, the member representing Obubra Etung Federal Constituency, Rt Hon Mike Etaba has Urged the chairman/councilors of OBUBRA to be strong and courageous.

The MEMBER (MIKE ETABA) made this known today, when he visited the chairman at his official quarter.
In his words "leadership is full of challenges and the only way out is to be united,focus and courageous". He plead with them to work as a team in order to give OBUBRA unprecedented representation.
He also advised the chairman (Dr Bassey Tom Agara)Never to let bad situations change the man in him. To always be in control of himself and what he wants to become, as a father and a leader.
And demands support for one another, as He was accompanied to mourn with Rt.Hon Friday Gabriel Okpechi on the death of his Father.
