The aforementioned association under the leadership of Comr. Albert Ovat yesterday July 30, 2020 payed a courtesy call to the executive chairman of Obubra Local Government Area, Hon. Dr. Bassey Agara Tom. The essence of the visitation was to congratulate the Chairman for his victory and successful inauguration as Chairman of council and also to award the Chairman for his administrative fervency.
Speaking in the meeting, the president and spoke person of the association Comr. Albert Ovat congratulated Dr. Tom for his victory in the poll and for successful inauguration as Chairman of Obubra Local Government Council. Comr. Albert proceeded by informing the Chairman of the decision of the entire Okum students to award him for his result based hardwork that is visible in the L.G.A. He also charged the Chairman to continue his effort in maintaining peaceful coexistence across the four zones of the LGA and further assured him of the continuous cooperation of the Okum students throughout his administration.
In an appreciation message, Dr. Agara expressed his unalloyed gratitude to the Okum students for finding him worthy to be awarded. He further encouraged the students to see themselves as leaders and models in their respective communities. He further enjoined them to adopt good reading culture in their respective campuses and other institutions of learning because there are all ambassadors of the Local Government. The Chairman further cautioned them to shun all forms of violence and social vices that threatens humans peaceful existence.
Other highlights of the meeting were the presentation of an honourary award to the Chairman and taking of group photographs with the Chairman.
