A Concerned Cross River born writer, Ekanem Essien has blasted the Cross River State Governor, Sen. Ben Ayade over the 11 Billion Naira promised to council chairmen as take off funds.  Comrade Essien who lamented the predicament faced by Council chairmen and councillors as results of pausity of forms in Government called on the Governor to ensure the smooth running of local government councils.
The writer said this in what he described as his third to the governor.

"MY THIRD OPEN LETTER TO THE EXECUTIVE GOVERNOR OF CROSS RIVER STATE, HIS EXCELLENCY SEN.PROF BEN AYADE, IN REGARD TO HUGE EMBARRASSMENT RECEIVED BY THE NEWLY SWORN-IN CHAIRMEN AND COUNCILLORS OF 18 L.G.AREAS OF THE STATE.

Dear Governor Ayade Sir.

With deep sense of humility and respect to the exalted office of the Governor of Cross River State, i most respectfully write onbehalf of those who share in a spirit of unalloyed loyalty to the constituted authority of our State that are practical in defending our nascent democracy.

I am deeply constrained to embarked on another set of open letter to you barley just few months ago that I dropped my last second open letter still on this same platform. This is not to undermine your exalted office as a Governor but to put the records straight for reference purposes and posterity sake.

Your Excellency Sir, though we are created in the image of God but we are individually different from each other and I am one person that cannot swallow the truth no matter who  is involved at that moment.  Therefore,  I can recalled very well in between 2011 to 2015 some bold steps you took in the Hallowed Chambers of the National Assembly about the reduction of Wages of your colleagues and how you were crucified by some of your ungrateful colleagues.

But today Your Excellency, hundreds and thousands of Cross Riverians  are in rude shock to realized that the injustice you stood against  on the Floor of National Assembly is that same injustice that Cross Riverians are receiving from you as a State Governor. Your government is only feeding us with daily empty promises full of pains and disappointment. Your policies and programmes are mostly on well arranged Media platform and Billboards. This is a very pathetic situation Your Excellency.

Your Excellency Sir, just some weeks ago, your video and audio were viral on social media how you were weeping uncontrollably in that you did not know that after five solid years of your administration that there are still thatch houses within the Calabar Metropolis. Honestly Your Excellency, some of us were deeply touched for such an emotional and psychological tears from a number one Citizen of our dear State.

WHAT IS HAPPENING TO OVER ELEVEN BILLION NAIRA TAKE OFF GRANTS TO NEWLY SWORN IN COUNCIL CHAIRMEN IN THE STATE?

Your Excellency Sir, during the Swearing in of the Eighteen (18) local government Chairmen in the State, in your well articulated speech, you clearly stated that over Eleven Billion Naira has been given as take off Grants to the 18 local government council Chairmen. But today after over 3 weeks of assumption of office of the Eighteen (18) local government council Chairmen and Councillors, 95% of them are still trekking to work while eleven billion Naira has miraculously disappeared from the local government account without a convincing explanation.

Your Excellency Sir, i wish to state here unequivocally clear that  from 1999 to date, there have never been an administration in the history of Cross River State that is so dictatorial in nature, not transparent, zero accountability, not welcoming advice no matter how fruitful such advice may be and above all, policies and programmes of your government are mostly on the social media platforms and billboards.

I want to conclude by saying that Grassroots expectation on the newly elected Chairmen and Councillors are too high having waited patiently for over five years without functional local government Council in the State. Please Sir, kindly do more of supervision than dictation so that people's hope should not be shattered at the end.

Thank you Sir in  anticipation of your fatherly consideration and compliance, as I remained very committed to the People's Democratic Party(PDP) and the government of Cross River State.
