Obubra Youths Visit Bassey Tom, Pledge Support To His Administration

A section of youths in Obubra LGA led by Comrade Samuel Ochoga today July 7th, paid a visit to the chairman of Council, Hon Dr Bassey Agara Tom in his office. Speaking onbehalf of the group, comrade Ochoga congratulated the chairman on his well deserved victory at the election and his successful inauguration into the office as the executive chairman of Council, Obubra Local Government Area. He expressed confidence in the chairman, saying that the youths were proud to have him as the leader who is always ready to change the narratives of the LGA. The youth leader went further to declare youths readiness to support the administration of the chairman Dr Bassey Tom, by working harmoniously with  him when ever their services are needed. He begged the chairman to remember the support of the youths during the campaign and the subsequent election and carry them along in both appointments and the administration generally.

The chairman Dr Bassey Agara Tom however thanked the youths for finding time to visit him. He commended their efforts and support for his election but frowned at the level of disunity amongst themselves, saying that a house divided against itself is always bound to fail. "I appreciate you for your composure, your ingenuity, dexterity, strength and the energy in you as youths. I will advise that you channel all these to unite yourselves in order to be able to develop the LGA. We cannot achieve development in disunity, I urge you to give peace a chance in Obubra, I have always emphasised in different fora, the place of peace in development, that is because development thrive in a peaceful and tranquil environment. Let's begin to do things right so that we can also have it right at all times"

The chairman disclosed that youths are very important in his government, and that is why majority of his appointees will be youths. Dr Bassey further admonished them to always comport themselves, respect one another and represent Obubra positively anywhere they find themselves so that they will be able to contribute their youthful exuberance in the development of our dear Local Government Area. He charged them to be more United when ever they are coming to visit him again as chairman.

Available in the meeting also were youths leaders of different communities, some section of youths Council executives, stakeholders etc.
