In a bid to foster ethical political correctness in the State, the Commissioner for Local Government Affairs, Hon. Stella Odey has stated her Ministry's commitment to collaborate with the State Inter-Party Affairs' Office and further promote standards that would encourage politics with ethics.

The Commissioner made the pledge when she received in audience the Special Adviser on Inter-Party Affairs, alongside major key players recently her Office in Calabar.

Welcoming the Team, Hon. Odey said Governor Ben Ayade, as the Chief architect of 'politics with ethics,' has demonstrated pragmatic leadership through the establishment of the Office of  Inter-Party Affairs in the State. She stated that the Governor believes in the transformation of human race in all ramifications and has demonstrated  it through several humanitarian gestures across the State and beyond.

Speaking further, the MLGA Commissioner applauded the leadership and innovations of the Office and promised to relay the message to the Local Government Council Chairmen in the State for further compliance and cooperation.

Earlier, the Special Adviser Inter-Party Affairs, Mr. Sunday Michael, who congratulated the Commissioner on her noble appointment, described her as "an astute administration," pointing out that the visit was necessitated by the need to drive the mandate of his office down to the grassroot.

Thanking Governor Ayade for creating an enabling environment for various political parties to co-exist peacefully in the State, the Special Adviser explained that the Office of Inter-Party Affairs is the coordinating body for all political parties in the State, and a conduit for all political parties in the State to send their polices and agenda to the Governor.

The Special Adviser revealed that plans are underway to establish a democratic Institute aimed at rendering orientation and trainings programmes for political office holders, while soliciting for the support and synergy from the Ministry.

The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Local Government Affairs, Barr. James Odok, and management staff of the Ministry were all present at the visit.
