The Chairman of  Calabar South Local Government Area, Hon(Mrs) Esther Bassey has kept to her promise of rewriting the history of Calabar South LGA by restoring Public Power Supply to the Council Headquarters at Anantigha.

Hon. Esther Bassey announced the restoration to the staff of Calabar South Council while addressing them during the council's weekly devotion. She told them that the basic necessity of life is paramount in any working environment *to enable them focus* and achieve set goals, as such, the Council cannot be left behind.

The Council, from reports made available to the Chairman, *has operated* without power supply for the past three years and this was brought to an end on the 20th of June when the Port Harcourt Electricity Distribution Company  (PHEDC) came to an agreement with the Council and reconnected the power supply that had been cut off.

Hon. Esther pledged to do all within her power to transform  the Council thereby changing its looks.
She also used the opportunity to ask them to always take time seriously and always come to work early as she will not tolerate lateness.

The members of staff were filled with joy for the reconnection of power supply in the council. They said this shall make them work with ease and not expose their documents at business *centres* where those documents are typed.
